AVALANCHE BEACON SEARCH FIELD BEACON TRAINING
Tips for Setting Up an Avalanche Beacon Search Field!
Effective training requires a well-organized search field.
An ideal area is approximately 150 x 100 meters, preferably on a slope. A minimum distance of 150 meters from interference sources such as overhead and underground power lines, cable cars, snowmaking systems, and technical buildings is crucial to avoid disruptions during the avalanche beacon search.
Additionally, a distance of about 50 meters from the first buried transmitters should be maintained, as current avalanche transceivers on the market have a range of up to 80 meters.
This setup also allows for training in signal search, as outlined in the setup instructions with various burial scenarios.
Various Search Scenarios Illustrated in Graphics
Here, we present 3 different search scenarios for you – ranging from simple cases to complex multiple burials – illustrated in graphics designed to help you optimally use the RTX457 system for your avalanche beacon training.
These illustrations show you how to set up the search field effectively to simulate realistic avalanche rescue scenarios.
